No midi files, but some midi CC1 curves are visible, so maybe this helps a bit, too.

Why not route your instruments to different Kontakt channels out to different mix channels in your DAW and mute those with automation?

For the ostinatos i’d just like to add to Sebastian’s advice that you can get the most realistic result if you set the portamento time short and alternate between portamento (press keys soft) and legato (press keys harder). Playing all the while with the mod wheel to shape your crescendo/decrescendo is essential. Also make sure to have the CC110 activated, as this will make your ostinato repetitions more realistic, removing the dreaded Machine Gun Effect.

Like Sebastian said it’s also essential to use the divisi to their full possibilities. If you would play in the part three or four times for the different divisi, it’s likely you’ll get a more realistic result compared to playing in the part once with all divisi together.

I hope this helps. I’d love to hear what you come up with. Ostinatos are kind of an obsession and the reason i bought LASS.

There are reports of weird midi behaviour in Logic https://www.logicprohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=97353

Could you perhaps try another midi controller keyboard?

I put an almost inaudible women’s choir behind the sordinos to get a flautando-like sound. But having a recorded flautando expression patch would just add to the palette. It’s not essential to have, but it would inspire composing.

    Hi Tom,

Do you mean by Kontakt manual the LASS pdf manual? Or haven’t you found the LASS pdf manual yet?

    Hi hedgejones,

Regarding the Stage&Color functionality you’re not hearing, have you pressed the Transmit button?
    Here’s a tutorial : http://audiobro.com/introduction-to-stage-color/

    I hope this helps.

    Hi BachRules (yes he does)

The effect you are describing is mentioned in the manual under portamento. With regards to the velocity, hitting the keys harder will give you the normal legato, which is fast. Hitting the keys less hard will give you portamento. There is even glissando if you hit the keys really softly, for a nice slur or an eastern effect. Evidently there is no glissando for the basses though .

    I hope this helps.

You have the Basses routed to Logic Out 3-4. Maybe those aren’t routed to your loudspeakers?

Can you check if you have sound if you assign Logic St Out to Inst 1?

    Hi gogollny,

it sounds like you didn’t yet select the midi channels on which to send the ARC data. I think that’s why you don’t hear any stage and colour presets being loaded.

Look here for more info : http://audiobro.com/introduction-to-stage-color/ (the midi channels are mentioned at around 2:00)

    Hope that helps!

    Hi jones082,

Have you checked the values for CC11 (Expression) and CC7 (Volume) as they will also affect the volume you hear.

    I hope this helps.

I don’t have a Macbook Pro, so i can’t say anything about that. I can say however that cpu power is not a very big concern for sample libraries. You can run LASS on older machines, i would think. What matters is the speed of your drive, ssd being the best choice, and the amount of RAM. So to answer your question directly: no, i don’t think the processor will make that much of a difference on running LASS. My 2 cents.

    Hi Marc,

Have you looked at the AA rules set in those patches? It’s probably set so they are all playing the top note?

For lush jazz pizz bass Trilian from Spectrasonics is pretty awesome. I would assume that is what you’re looking for. They’re pretty big patches though. SSDs are no luxury when loading those.

I don’t use the re-center function with VSS. I think it sounds already nice with just the extra space and diffusion. Maybe the re-center functionality is the real deal, but i never got results as good as LASS built-in panning, so i quit using it.
